The 36 VE is the ideal machine if you want something of great quality for a sizeable lawn that will last for years, aerate and rid your lawn of debris - further confusion may arrise from the fact that the 30VE and 36VE have only the slitting tines for aerating, while smaller, cheaper models such as the 38 VLE also have spring tines for moss and other debris. Don't be put off! - the slitting tines on the 30 and 36VE can be set to perform exactly the same function as the spring tines on the 38VLE, a more plasticky machine designed for less strenuous use.
